Launch Event – Bath

Mr B's

A Wing Beats launch took place at Mr B’s Emporium of Reading Delights – the British Book Awards’ Independent Bookshop of the Year 2008 – on Saturday October 4, 2008, in association with With Words.

With an appreciative audience of over 50 people spilling into a second room and a corridor, Karen Summers of With Words introduced Stephen Moss, John Barlow and Matthew Paul, who talked about, and read from, the book.

Launch Event – London

Wing Beats was launched at the Poetry Society’s Poetry Café in Covent Garden, London, on Saturday September 13, 2008.

Introduced by Karen and Alan Summers of With Words, John Barlow and Matthew Paul read from the book and talked extensively about the Wing Beats project, answering questions from the audience. This was followed by readings from David Cobb, Janice Fixter, Graham High, Martin Lucas, Mark Rutter, Alan Summers, Diana Webb, Alison Williams and Frank Williams, interspersed by readings by John and Matthew of poems by other contributors to the book.
